WIPEOUT - Open Casting Call

wipeout

Join us on Saturday, September 18th from 11am-3pm for an open casting call for a new season of ABCs hit show WIPEOUT. Twenty-four thrill-seekers compete in the world's largest extreme obstacle course designed to provide the most spills, face plants and wipeouts ever seen on television, in Wipeout, a painfully funny new reality series. Each week 24 daring new contestants of all ages, shapes and sizes go head to head through four rounds of grueling and physically demanding but wildly hilarious obstacle courses to win the title of Wipeout Champion and the grand prize of $50,000.

Candidates must meet the following requirements prior to their casting call interview:

  • MEN AND WOMEN over 18 years of age.
  • Legal residents of the U.S.
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Must currently live in California.
  • Fun, strong-willed, outgoing, and have a great sense of humor.

About the Casting Call

  • Be creative in your interview! Anything you can do to get our attention is fantastic! Show us your personality! Come dressed in a costume (with ability to cover up while in public view), sing a song, show us your battle cry for the start of the course, do your "I just won $50,000" victory dance...don't be afraid to think outside the box!
  • Get there early! There are going to be lots and lots of people, so the earlier you get there, the better!
  • You will be standing in line, most likely outside, for an extended period of time. Please be prepared for it. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and sunglasses, bring a book or something to keep you occupied, bring bottled water, bring a few snacks as well, and lots of enthusiasm!
  • Bring friends! Come in a huge group and make your time at the event that much more fun!
  • Some applicants will be interviewed the day of the event and others will be scheduled for a future date to take place at the casting call office.
  • Any applicants dressing in elaborate costumes MUST have the ability to fully cover themselves up while in public view.
Good luck!

Angels Pitching Coach Mike Butcher wins Top Chef Honors

acc

On June 30th, AM830 and ESPN Zone Anaheim held the 1st Annual Angels Charity Cooking Challenge. Mike Scioscia, Mike Butcher, Kevin Fransden, Kevin Jepsen, Joe Saunders & Brandon Wood each brought in a partner to compete over a hot stove to earn money for their charity

When ESPN Zone's Executive Chef Thomas Keavey unveiled the secret ingredient (Pasta), Scioscia felt he and Anne (wife) were the odds on favorite to win. Mike and Anne won the Best Creativity Award but couldn't beat out his pitching coach. Walking away with the Best Taste and Top Chef honors were Pitching Coach Mike Butcher and his sister-in-law Tiffany Nagel. Protests rang in when it was revealed that Tiffany was a professional chef that trained with some of the best in France. Brandon Wood and Fiancee Lindsay won the Best Presentation Award.

Mike & Tiffany's Award winning "Pasta Diablo" will be a special on the menu through mid-August, with a portion of all sales going to Coach Butcher's Charity.
